Dr. Debbie
After retiring from the practice of surgery, I achieved some amazing results with complementary therapy for my personal health issues. I then decided to champion Credible Complementary Therapy to empower others and to give them hope. I felt uniquely qualified to do so because:
- As a breast cancer surgeon, I loved empowering women to become survivors!
- After receiving The Arthur G James Cancer Hospital’s “Commitment to Hope Award” it became apparent to me that giving hope to others was something I did instinctively.
- I was comfortable reviewing research associated with complementary and alternative therapeutics, as I am a published researcher.
Three years ago, I began making house calls for the first time in my life, providing individualized complementary therapy. Also, I resumed public speaking. These activities grew into a mission of community education, networking with liked minded people, and offering innovative complementary therapy. I regained the joy of empowering people again; now serving not only women, but men as well.
In February 2019, I opened my health and wellness office. Therapy predicated on well researched practices and technology continues to be my specialty.
I recently joined the local chapter of the Holistic Chamber of Commerce and offer community education on health topics in forums with multiple practitioners. This latter endeavor has led to an educational series, “Resources for Wellness”, that launched in November 2019. In 2020, I will introduce the podcast, “Embracing Synergy for Health and Wellness”. The focus of this effort will be both informational and educational.
Traditionally, healthcare in this country has focused on “sick care”. There is a growing force focused on prevention and good health maintenance. I support the mission to promote and help create health and wellness in our communities. If you are inspired by this mission for yourself and/or others, I would love to connect with you.
